25 Cannon Street
Description
A direct appointment from the client, O’Keefe were tasked to de-risk and soft strip the current building, which is a five storey commercial use building with a double extended basement.
The site was previously vacated by a large international bank and the re-development programme was to provide a more sustainable building for future use within the banking sector.
Once the main health risks (asbestos/COSHH) had been safely removed we could begin the task of removing electrical services, non-structural elements and all remaining soft furnishing, this included significant amounts of plasterboard and MEP services.
Access was only available from the rear of the building and required an electronic booking system to ensure no disturbance was caused to the surrounding roads. A full time traffic marshal was required to assist with access and egress. This was especially required as we methodically removed waste from the building.
All inert waste from the site was recycled along with 250t of plasterboard and 300t of MEPH removed.
O’Keefe successfully completed and handed over to the main contractor for their further works on time with no incidents.
