Klondyke Industrial Estate

The Demolition of 30 industrial units across a 26 acre site to make way for much needed housing in the southeast. Challenges included structurally unsafe buildings, fire damage, asbestos contamination, working alongside the Thames Estuary and protecting substations for future development.

The asbestos predominantly consisted of roof corrugated roof sheeting that was carefully removed prior to demolition. High Reach excavators were used to cold cut the remaining steel frame structures. Once demolition works were completed the remaining ground floor slabs and foundations were grubbed up and crushed to a 6F2 grade.
