Sydenham Hill
Description
The £5.7 million Sydenham Hill project involved delivering a complex substructure and superstructure package for Lovell Partnership Ltd. The development required constructing an RC frame across three interconnected blocks, each reaching up to six floors, to form the core of a new residential building.
The project’s substructure scope included the installation of pile caps to stabilise the building and distribute loads efficiently across the foundation. Additionally, an intricate drainage system was integrated to manage rainwater and wastewater effectively, ensuring ground stability over the long term. Services such as water and electrical conduits were also laid, designed to be accessible for future maintenance while minimising disruption to the surrounding area.
One of the key challenges was coordinating the installation of services and drainage within a confined, live urban site. However, the team successfully managed logistics, ensuring precise placement of each component to optimise space and minimise interference with existing infrastructure.
Lovell Partnership Ltd. expressed satisfaction with the project execution, noting the team’s commitment to quality and on-schedule delivery. The completed RC frame and substructure provide a robust foundation and structural integrity for the development, meeting all required specifications and positioning the project for long-term success.
